International seminar on “Health Promotion Towards a Healthier World in Post-2015 back to back with the 15th INHPF annual meeting was held at Evergreen International Convention Center from 18-20 November 2015 by the International Network of Health Promotion Foundations (INHPF) and the Health Promotion Administration (HPA), Ministry of Health and Welfare, Taiwan.
Professor Prakit Vathesatogkit advisor of the INHPF opened the seminar together with the Director General of the Health Promotion Administration, Dr. Shu-Ti Chiou. Keynote speech was delivered by Professor Bruce Maycock, Secretary General, Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health and Dr. Shu-Ti Chiou.
International partners, UNDP, Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance (SEATCA), Juntendo University, Japan and Happy Workplace International shared their important work during the seminar and annual meeting.
More than 100 participants participated at the international seminar and discussed about the Health Promotion in the Post-2015 Agenda, competencies and future directions for health promotion post-2015, how to achieve NCDs targets and how to cooperate in foundation/organization work plan by linking with the social development goals.
Network members and affiliates shared their priority areas in post 2015. It was highlighted during the panel discussion and open forum that engagement of different stakeholders and partners as well as international collaboration is crucial. Economic perspective on sustainability of funding for health promotion programs and different options of alternative financing were also discussed during the 3-day seminar-workshop and meeting. Participants also actively participated during the seminar with fruitful discussions and learned extensively from all the best practices and experiences from Taiwan during the field visit.
The meeting ended on 20 November 2015.
