 Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer  of Southeast Asia Initiative on Tobacco Tax (SITT)

Project Term: 60 months starting 25 January 2010

Location: Bangkok, Thailand

Closing date for applications: 8 January 2010

 

The Project: Using the SEATCA organizational model of regional collaboration and technical assistance, to support specific efforts of Indonesia, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Philippines, and Vietnam to reduce tobacco use through increased tobacco taxes and effective package warning labels. 

Responsibilities: To develop and implement a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation process in relation to this projects objectives and outcomes. The officer will be able to access expert guidance from the Nossal Institute for Global Health based in Melbourne, Australia. The successful candidate will be expected to report directly to the Project Director and Project Manager, and collaborative relationships with country-level partners will be required.

Qualifications:

·      University degree, preferably with experience in project evaluation in a public health discipline.

·      Solid knowledge base in project monitoring and evaluation is essential, with at least 3 years in this field.

·      Applicants must be able to work independently and within a team structure, prepare timely reports, and possess above-average oral and written English skills.

·      Preference will be given to candidates located in Bangkok. 

Salary range: 1,500-2,000 USD/month
