Open letter to WHO’s Dr Margaret Chan on e-cigarettes

Below is a link which opens to a letter sent to WHO Director General Margaret Chan, June 16, 2014 regarding e-cigarettes. 129 public health and medical professionals from 31 nations have signed it, urging a more evidence-based approach to e-cigarettes.

There are a number of important messages in the letter, and one of the things which should be emphasized is the public health impact of e-cigarettes, because it remains unregulated, risk profiles and potential harms these may pose to the public are unknown.

More of the key issues in the letter posted here http://tobacco.ucsf.edu/blogs/sglantz

Please do share among other colleagues and friends in  the tobacco control community and to media.
