11 to 13 May 2018, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: SEATCA’s Smoke-free Program Manager Dr. Domilyn Villareiz, Knowledge Manager Ms. Tan Yen Lian and Media and Communications Manager Mr. Wendell Balderas were among those who participated and presented during the first Southeast Asia Conference on Tobacco Control held in Putra World Trade Centre.
The conference, with the theme Towards Health Cities, aims to empower and involve different communities to fight tobacco and gather different minds and professions from the Asian region and get their ideas on how to make tobacco control measures more effective. Gaps and proposed improvements to tobacco control policies were also discussed during the conference.
The conference was organized by the Malaysian Council for Tobacco Control (MCTC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), Malaysian Health Promotion Board (MySihat).
