Last 29 to 30 May, about 80 youth participants from Thailand and other ASEAN countries gathered in Bangkok to participate in a 2-day ASEAN Youth Workshop on Tobacco Control as part of this year’s World No Tobacco Day celebration.
Organized by SEATCA and ASH Thailand, the Youth Forum’s theme, “Towards a Tobacco-Free Generation”, allowed participants to learn the multifaceted and intricately linked social dynamics of the tobacco pandemic and the rationale behind the “tobacco-free generation” endgame. Participants also brainstormed different endgame activities to implement in their respective countries.
Participants also had the privilege of meeting the Prime Minister of Thailand at the country’s government house.
