Vinh phuc province, Vietnam:  Lat March 10, 2011, a workshop ‘About Harmful Effects and Drafted Tobacco Control Law’ was held jointly by the Vietnam Law Association(VLA), Healthbridge Canada and SEATCA.

The activity was participated in by members of the VLA, other civil societies and government officials.

SEATCA director, Ms. Bungon Ritthiphakdee spoke on the Current Status and experiences of WHO FCTC implementation in the region.  Other speakers were:  Prof. Nguyen Ba Duc, Vice chair of the Anti-Cancer Association, who spoke of the harms of tobacco; Dr. Nguyen Tuan Lam, on the WHO FCTC Vietnam Activities, and Dr. Nguyen Huy Quang, the deputy General Director of the Legislation Dept, Ministry of Justice.

The half-day activity was very fruitful, and the participants were given the chance to clarify and comment after the presentations.
